One of the main reasons I started the Daily Bible Reading Podcast was to leave the recordings as a legacy for our children and grandchildren. Gale and I (Phil) joined Pioneer Bible Translators (PBT) in 2009, and before that— starting in 1980, we were members of Wycliffe Bible Translators. During all that time, the focus of our ministry has been in Indonesia. The Orya New Testament (in the language of the Orya ethnic group, population 2,000) was launched in 2005. That same year we started to translate the New Testament into Plain Indonesian (Indonesia's national language). That New Testament was published in March of 2014. We praise the Lord that the New Testament (pictured below) is now available in book stores all over Indonesia, and in apps for smart devices such as the one published by YouVersion (Bible.com).
understanding of God's Word in Indonesia, both in the national language and in ethnic languages. Currently Albata has an office manager (Daniel), a translation coordinator for translating the Old Testament into plain Indonesian (Balazi), and five half-time translators. Albata sponsors has an online Bible translation course— to enable people who would like to help us translate the Old Testament into Indonesian, or translate for any of the 400+ Bible-less ethnic groups in Indonesia.

What’s the benefit of having God’s Word in your language?
Here's how you can send a gift to our ministry:
The quickest and easiest way to send a special one-time gift is by using your debit card via this link: https://www.pioneerbible.org/give/PhilAndGaleFields
For supporting us on a regular basis, there are ways that avoid credit card fees. See DonationInstructions2016.
We praise the Lord for the way He has provided for our family for over 30 years. And He has done it primarily through individuals like you. We send thanks to all who support us, and like Paul we say, “And this same God who takes care of me/us will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19)

What’s the benefit of leaving home for the Gospel?
There is a great resource for short daily prayer bulletins about Indonesia in general. Sign up for these e-mails at http://www.prayingforindonesia.com/. Many of the prayer requests come with maps or pictures that will really help you pray for the different ethnic groups. When praying for the highlighted groups, please add a prayer request that God will cause the Plain Indonesian New Testament to come into their hands.
Here’s why we do what we do! This video from Wycliffe is based on 1981 quotes from Dr. Billy Graham.
